We Took A Break

Break - “A short period of time when you stop what you are doing so that you can eat or rest.”

About three years ago I heard a soft, sweet whisper that continued to call for about a week - “take a 10 day break from Instagram Alissa”.

My relationship with social media started as a silly interaction. It turned into a want to share positivity and love, and to connect with others. It then turned into a distraction. I learned that social media is a tool that I use, not the other way around.

What was supposed to be a 10 day break from social media turned into so much MORE.

Present day. Words like “pandemic“, “social distancing”, and “mask” are frequent parts of my vocabulary…. John started first grade! We finally finished our small bath reno, we are now in the middle of a major home renovation with tons of drama, and we welcomed baby Wilkens number 2 to the fam!! Lots of change, lots of learning, lots of growing, and lots of trusting in God happening over here!

I hope in sharing my stories we will connect/reconnect, share, love, rest, and grow together!
